Details: SUMMARY: Discussed lead alert of 0.0155 DETAILS: 9/22/11 - Harriet called to find out what to do about their lead results. I hadnt yet received the alert so I asked he to fax me copies. The main high site is the pre-school class at 0.0214. I looked back and found that in 2002 the system also had an alert of 0.018. I asked the school to send me any copies of past results they could find. I received results from 2002, 2003, 2005, 2008 and 2011. It appears the system did plumbing replacement in 2002 and the results of the preschool class went from 0.0328 in 2002 to 0.0188 in 2003. Our file indicates the system was going to take the sink out of service. According to Harriet, the sink is only used for hand washing. I explained to her that it is still in use. I also wanted to find out if they had any testing results from after they initially exceeded that shows they samples the drinking water fountains. She was going to look further in their files and ask Paul person who had been taking the samples since 2002) if he remembers anything. I did not hear back from facility so I sent a letter outlining their options. One is to located any test results/information from 2002 plumbing replacement or to start over on the plumbing replacement. I also asked them to send me a copy of the public education materials they needed to send out to the users prior to doing so. I received an email 10/10/11 stating they sent out a weekly newsletter that talked about the lead issue they wanted to know if this would meet requirement for public education. They did not send ma a copy for review. I finally received a copy of what was stated and it does not meet the requirements. They told me they do not currently have access to the internet to use the form online. ACTION NEEDED: none
