Details: | SUMMARY: Discussed Options for Treatment DETAILS: I called and spoke to Ludek about the site visit yesterday and options to get off of the boil notice. He insists that there is nothing wrong with the water as demonstrated by the coliform testing. I explained that this was testing done after his filtration and UV and that even if treated water sample results were absent of coliform bacteria, that does not necessarily mean that adequate treatment is provided for other pathogens and it also does not mean that he would be deemed to be in compliance with the treatment requirements for surface water systems. I also explained that he was granted 5.5-log crypto treatment for LT2 based on the proper operation of that treatment, so he avoided additional source sampling. I said that we could plan a site visit to inspect the source again and that perhaps source water monitoring should commence, but until that is finished and as long as improvements were not made to the treatment system, he would remain on a boil water notice. I also spoke to him about options to remain in business without providing water to the public, but he seemed reluctant to go that route. ACTION NEEDED: System to remain on boil notice. Another site visit will be planned for a second evaluation of the source. |
