| Details: | SUMMARY: Alert Response - Aute TCR MCL Violation DETAILS: Curtis called to inform DWP that the three repeat samples collected 1/30/12 from the distribution all tested absent for total coliform. The triggered source sample, however, tested positive for total coliform, absent for E. coli. The source sample was collected at the first available tap, which was a frost free hydrant outside the control building. Since the water had to pass through the pressure tank, and frost free hydrants are considered poor sample sites, this sample may not accurately reflect the source water quality. A new sample tap will be installed at the wellhead prior to the pressure tank, and five routine samples collected for February as soon as possible, including one at the source. Since there was a repeat/source sample that tested TC positive, it is an acute violation and a Tier 1 boil notice is required. Bottled water is being supplied to the employees. ACTION NEEDED: PWS to post public notice, send copy to DWP, install new raw water sample tap, collect five routine samples in February. | ||
