Details: | SUMMARY: Request for Wellfield Determination DETAILS: John believed that the water system had been granted "Wellfield" status for SOCs, VOCs, and Rads a few years back but the monitoring schedules in SDWIS didnt reflect this change so he requested that I look into it. Notes in the Source Water Assessment file and a contact report completed by Dennis Nelson in July 2006 verified that the water system was granted "Wellfield" status with the sample location identified as Entry Point A. A quick review of sensitivity analysis results for each well and recent water quality results confirm that the Wellfield sample location should remain Entry Point A. Representative Wellfield sampling at Entry Point A is approved for SOCs, VOCs, and Rads. Since only one round of samples for arsenic have been collected at the current MCL, two more rounds of samples should be collected at each well before determining if representative Wellfield sampling is appropriate. Annual nitrate samples should always be collected at each entry point. If nitrate concentration exceeds the MCL in any of the wells, then a round of SOCs, VOCs, and Rads would be required for the entry point for that well in addtion to sample requirements at Entry Point A. Gregg Baird has change the montoring schedule for the water system and I have contacted the water system regarding the sample schedule changes. ACTION NEEDED: No further action needed. |
