Details: | SUMMARY: Positive coliform DETAILS: I received notice on 6/19 at 4:30pm that 2 of 4 repeat samples came back positive. However, all 4 samples came back Ecoli negative. I called that night and left a message with Carol in regards to issuing a tier 1 boil water notice and next steps including shock chlorination. I met with Carol the morning of 6/20 to review the situation. At that time I provided Carol a copy of the notice and explained the directions for distribution. I also reviewed in detail the next steps for shock chlorinating the system. In a worst case scenario we also reviewed the storages tank could be drained and cleaned and outside potable brought in on a temporary basis until this current situation is fully under control. As of now Carol will proceed forward with shock chlorinating the system and then taking 5 repeat samples in July 2012. At that time, Carol also expressed interest in adding a chlorinator to her system. I mentioned the plan review process for doing so as well as some of the additional requirements needed. ACTION NEEDED: Additional follow up will be based on the results of the 5 routine samples in July 2012. Will continue to provide help and support with shocking the system as needed/requested by the system. For now, a tier 1 notice has been issued and the system is taking steps to address the problem which for now is specifically shocking the system. | ||
