Details: | SUMMARY: Boil Order Lifted DETAILS: 7/30/12 – Met Scott on site. It was determined that Smith Foods’ transmission line between the Smith well and plant, running parallel and upslope of the city’s water line, was leaking. The leak had saturated the soil downslope, resulting in the landslide. Measured pressure of 35 psi at the highest elevation hydrant in town. Measured a chlorine residual of 1.3 mg/l in the water coming into the city system at the intertie on the west side of town, 1.1 mg/l at the city shop, and 0.5 mg/l at the mayor’s house on the east side of town. Collected a coliform sample. 7/31/12 – Received lab report showing the coliform sample tested absent for bacteria. Boil order was lifted at approximately 3:00 pm. ACTION NEEDED: City to complete repairs to transmission line, pressure test and flush, restore connection to distribution system, maintain chlorine residual in the interim, collect routine sample for August after chlorine residual is non-detectable. |
