Details: | SUMMARY: Positive coliform samples DETAILS: When well #4 went off line the emergency well #3 was placed in service. This well does not have the ability to be chlorinated. A preliminary test was taken on 7/17/12 and analyzed at the Klickitat County Health which showed the sample was positive for Ecoli. Since this was a poor sample site and the lab is not a state approved lab we did not order a boil water at that time. Three more bacteriological samples were taken on 7/18/12 one from the source and 2 from distribution. One of these samples was taken from the east side of the distribution and one from the west side of distribution. Results of the samples were source negative but the 2 in distribution were positive for coliform. The reservoir was batch chlorinated to 3 ppm and well 4 was placed back in service on 7/19/12 approx 4 pm. Nitrate sample was also taken when well 3 was in service. ACTION NEEDED: I asked that chlorine residuals be read and recorded in various areas of the distribution system since more confirmation samples could not be taken until the early part of the week of the 23rd. Chlorine residuals are to be approximately .6-.8ppm. | ||
