Details: | SUMMARY: finalized Tracer Study report (Plan Review) DETAILS: Received the Tracer Study report from HBH earlier in August. The Tracer Study at Vineyard Mountain was conducted a year ago on July 20, 2011. I found a few issues with the study and some information missing in the report, but in the end, the report appears to give conservative numbers by identifying only 18 minutes of contact time, and setting a minimum residual of 0.6 mg/L at the Entry Point. My DWP colleagues and I feel that this level of residual will achieve adequate CT for 4-log inactivation of viruses before the first user. I relayed this information to Scott Kruger of Benton County. ACTION NEEDED: Scott Kruger will be checking in with Tom Pattee. Tom will soon be reviewing the group of water systems whose assessment monitoring results show chronic TC in the source water, but not confirmed E. coli. This is the situation with Vineyard Mountain - TC is common in both wells, and one has inadequate construction, but EC has never shown up in confirmation samples. DWPs future recommendations may include such measures as reconstructing the inadequate well, or Compliance Monitoring, |
