Details: | SUMMARY: Unapproved Alsea River Surface Water Source in use DETAILS: OAKLANDS FISH CAMP/MARINA (PWS 92054), a State Regulated system consisting of a residential population (RV/mobile home) of approximately 20, was required to issue a boil water notice yesterday (09/26) when Amy Chapman with Lincoln County Public Health verified the system was using untreated brackish water from the Alsea River as its source. Lincoln County’s investigation was prompted by a complaint received by DWS and forwarded on 09/26. Apparently the Alsea River was brought online as a source on 09/25. Amy is currently consulting the system on the possibility of obtaining hauled water from an approved source. This situation occurred because the system’s two wells went dry. ACTION NEEDED: The Alsea River is not an approved water source and cannot be used. A boil water notice will remain in place until an approved potable water source is in use. |
