Details: | SUMMARY: Reservoir Repair/Replacement DETAILS: The Power City Water Co-op is a small private water system located between Umatilla and Hermiston, located along Highway 395. The Co-op serves a population of 70 people with 35 connections-- with a single 8” well originally constructed in 1989 (the well was deepened in 1999). Currently, the well pumps directly to a 20,000 gallon storage tank which feeds a booster pump station. Prior to entering the storage tank, the raw water is disinfected by the addition of hypochlorite. During an underwater inspection. It was noted their existing steel reservoir has experienced severe corrosion and is need of a completely new coating inside and out. Bill Goss with DWS requested that HBH contact the system to provide preliminary assistance with the selection of treatment or new source technologies. HBH met with system personnel on site to determine needs and possible solutions for the repair or replacement of the reservoir. ACTION NEEDED: Complete evaluation report on options available to system. |
