| Details: | SUMMARY: Coliform Investigation DETAILS: Tom Kent contacted HBH regarding a recurring coliform issue with the water system well. Currently the system serves 250 people through 109 connections. Water is fed from an 8” well to several different reservoirs and ultimately to the customers. The water system has been experiencing positive coliform results since 2005. In 2009, recommendations were made to better seal up the well head to prevent foreign materials from entering the well and contaminating it. Also, sampling standards for coliform were developed to ensure that good samples were being taken. HBH visited the system to inspect the well house and well head and discussed possibility that of biofilm growing inside the well. HBH recommended a method for ensuring that the top of the well casing is receiving chlorination when the well is disinfected. ACTION NEEDED: Continue to assist water system with coliform issue when required. | ||
