| Details: | SUMMARY: MCL violation for September 2012 DETAILS: Annita called frequently giving updates on the system. Attempts to increase chlorination have not worked and there is a problem with the chlorinator. Pursewell Pumps has visited the system numerous times to trouble shoot. A field visit was made due additional complaints of smell and low pressure and to look over the system. The system chlorinates due to the sulfur smell. Since the chlorination has not been functioning correctly, the sulfur smell has been a little strong. At the time of the visit, the chlorination was bypassed around the well pump so as to get chlorine in the system. During the visit, stops were made at the trailers who had called in complaints to check the water. Pressure tests showed the water pressure met the minimum (sp. 109 had pressure of 42psi). Final determination for the low chlorine was the connection where the chlorine injects into the pipe was plugged due to hard water. System now knows when there is a decrease in the chlorine residual to check this connection. A public notice was distributed for the MCL violation. 5 routine samples collected on 10/15 were absent for bacteria but did have an elevated chlorine residual of 2.0. Residual is back down to 0.3 and all results have been absent for bacteria. ACTION NEEDED: none | ||
