| Details: | SUMMARY: Pump Failure in Well DETAILS: Darrell called this morning to report that the pump had failed at this facility last week - the pump was replaced over the weekend but the well house bldg had to be deconstructed to access the wellhead, and the result was that the residual disinfection chlorine injection system was removed. As an interim strategy, the storage reservoir was shock chlorinated. I notified Darrell that DWS would require a copy of the specifications for the new well pump (informal plan review - no cost), and a narrative of what happened. Also, during the pump replacement it was noted that the well casing is in very poor condition. OPRD wishes to have a new well drilled. I explained the plan review requirements to Darrell. He will arrange submittal. He noted that they would like to drill the new well asap - I told him that DWS would do our best to expedite our review once the submittal was received. I recommended that they monitor daily chlorine residual at the entry point during the interim period to ensure that the residual remains lower than 4 ppm - ideally between 0.5 - 1.0 ppm from reservoir. ACTION NEEDED: Wait for pump specs, and also plan review submittal. | ||
