Details:	SUMMARY: Response to localized boil water notice due to loss of pressure DETAILS: Jim indicated at 230 pm today that the District is replacing 1,600 feet of steel with C-900 PVC line in the area of SE Pounder and SE Evans Rd on 6/26/13 Wed., and that positive pressure cannot be maintained for 68 homes, and thus a boil water notice will be issued to those 68 homes beginning Wed. at 9 am. Door hangers to be hung and residents will be called. The reason for the boil notice is that there are no gate valves and the system is unable to backfeed to this higher area in order to keep positive pressure. District will replace line and install a pressure reducing valve and then flush, restore pressure and chlorine residual, and then collect coliform samples, per DWS Best Practices. ACTION NEEDED: District to continue to follow BMPs and will discuss results of coliform samples with DWS prior to lifting boil water notice to affected 68 homes. District to apply for SRF funding for distribution system improvements (gate valves, new upsized lines in order to address problem. DWS to contiue to offer support to District to address the distribution system conditions that have caused multiple boil water notices due to loss of positive pressure in this area.
