Details: | SUMMARY: Complaint of high chlorine and brown water DETAILS: A tenant at the MHP called and complained that the water at the facility had high chlorine and was brown in color. Complainant also said that the property has new owners and that he thought that since the new owners took over no one was running the water system. Complainant also said that in February well drillers were out there doing work on the water system.I called the new owners, Debbie Keating (already updated on SDWIS) and spoke with her she said Delta Environmental was hired to be the certified operator onsite. Kevin Hunt with Delta went out the site this week and did a walk through. The onsite manager who will be under the direction of Kevin Hunt was not properly managing the chlorine levels and the pH for the corrosion control. Chlorine onsite was 1.2 ppm and pH was 7.0, Kevin adjusted the chlorine down and the pH up to bring the levels back to a more appropriate range. Kevin is going to meet with Christensen Well Drilling to confirm what work they did back in February at the site, but Kevin was told by a tenant onsite that the well drillers reconditioned some of the wells onsite to get more gpm. ACTION NEEDED: Kevin will follow up with me after talking with Christensen Well Drilling to make sure the work they did in February does not need to go through plan review. |
