| Details: | SUMMARY: Ecoli alert DETAILS: System received an E. Coli alert for qtrly sample on 10/3. I first called system on Friday 10/6 and we agreed to treat this as an E. Coli positive. A PN was issued in the form of direct phone calls to all users of the system by Ted explaining the situation. The system was placed on a boil water notice right away in part due to the previous bad samples in August 2013 as well. I was on leave at that time, but apparently the system never shock chlorinated in August 2013. I met with the system in the field on 10/9 to explain procedures for shock chlorinating, but I also recommended hiring a professional to do the job. Talked with Ted again on 10/11 and they will shock the system themselves. he has given a second PN in the form of telephone calls to all the residents alerting them to the situation and what is going on with the water. All residents are currently still on a boil water notice, and all are using bottled water for drinking and cooking purposes. ACTION NEEDED: Shock chlorinate and take 5 more routine samples. | ||
