Details: | SUMMARY: 5 Month PNC Follow Up - Arsenic RAA DETAILS: WS currently has a RAA of 0.014 mg/l for arsenic. The are a PNC and have been for 5 months. The arsenic filter media (installed in 2008) became unable to remove enough arsenic and was replaced recently. After the media in the polishing filter was replaced in October a test was taken on 11/15/13 with a result of 0.0071 mg/l. A public notice for arsenic was issued on 9/20/13 and a copy provided to DMCE on 9/24/13. The system will continue to be a PNC with a RAA above 0.010 mg/l for more than 90 days. I have encouraged the system to monitor early in the quarter for arsenic but if test results are at the current level of 0.007, they will need more than 180 days to RTC. As long as quarterly arsenic tests are taken and reported timely and levels are under the MCL, I will not refer them to OHA DWS for formal enforcement. ACTION NEEDED: Follow up on quarterly arsenic levels and RTC when RAA is below 0.010 mg/l. |
