| Details: | SUMMARY: Follow up on loss of possitive pressure -localized boil notice DETAILS: I spoke to Jim at 10 am on 12/30 about a localized boil order effective 12/29 at approximately 100 homes due to a loss in positive pressure as a result of cutting into a mainline at the outlet of Reservoir 4 to install a flow meter. Door hangers hung on all 100 homes on 12/27 in advance of work. The loss of pressure was due to the lack of ability to isolate the area, due to the system having adequate gate valves. Work began on 12/29, system followed DWS BMPs for Reduced Pressure Events, made repairs, flushed area, restored pressure (52 psi) and a 1.2 mg/L chlorine residual on 12/29. Two bacti samples taken 12/29 at 2 pm. Samples taken to the lab on the morning of 12/30, with results due back on 12/31. New flow meter will allow ability to isolate the reservoir for maintenance and still serve the users without a loss in pressure in the future. ACTION NEEDED: Jim to consult with DWS upon hearing of the results of the two samples prior to lifting the boil notice. DWS to continue to support District to ensure adequate pressure and service to all customers. | ||
