Details: | SUMMARY: 4/21/14 Jeff informed us that they went to direct filtration- the accelator needed to be bypassed for additional repairs. DETAILS: DWS gave this guidance: The following conditions must be met in this mode of operation:1. Turbidity standards must continue to be met- < 0.3 NTU for 95% of readings-- all readings < 1 NTU.2. Meet CT (chlorine contact time) for 1 log inactivation of giardia (rather than 0.5 log). 3. Keep the filter loading rate < 4 gpm/sq. ft. On 2/22/14 Jeff reported that: We finished the repairs to the Accelator last night around 2300 hrs. After the Accelator was filled we started to filter water (conventionally). We performed a couple jar tests to optimize our chemicals. The plant ran flawlessly while under direct filtration, and continues to run normally in conventional filtration, this morning. All of the above conditions listed above were met. ACTION NEEDED: None. |
