Details: | SUMMARY: Update on system operation status since last month DETAILS: Emailed from Scott Stoffel: "The Highway Well Water System is still closed down. We had the direct discharge (pump-to-waste) line installed on July 29 by Harney County Plumbing. We also had the Backflow Assembly Test performed by this plumbing company on the same date, and it passed. We plan to collect the coliform samples next week. Chris and I will be on an off-District assignment August 22 to September 2, thus it will be the beginning of September before we will be able to determine how to proceed given the testing results. The water system will continue to be closed until the water test results conform." I suggested that since the water system has been shut to the public for months and cannot reopen before September, they should consider marking the next samples as "special" on the lab slip, for their own feedback. Then they could take the required routine coliform samples in September, when the next one would be required for the 3rd quarter anyway. ACTION NEEDED: DMCE database staff will change the July 17th total coliform positive test to a "special" sample in the database, since it was taken to check water quality following work on the water system, and it has not been open to the public for months. Scott will take at least one special coliform sample next week. When they are back in the office in early Sept, they will contact me with the latest (special) test results. System will remain shut to the public until sometime in September when clean samples are obtained. |
