| Details: | SUMMARY: Follow up on September corrosion control excursions at Miller Rd entry point DETAILS: I spoke to Darryl about the 6.8 and 7.1 pH levels measured at the entry point on September 27 and 28, which were below the 7.2 minimum pH assigned at the entry point for the Miller Road wells (EP-B). These are the first two pH excursions in a while and I indicated that a violation would not be incurred until the system had greater than 9 excursions in a rolling 6-month period. Darryl indicated that the soda ash feed pump stopped working over the weekend as the soda ash can plug up the feed pump line from time to time. ACTION NEEDED: The City is running the mixer in the soda ash bash tank continuously to keep the soda ash in suspension to minimize the particle solidifying and plugging the line and setting up protocols to quickly respond if the line is plugged to ensure continued application of soda ash. The pH readings have been above the minimum since that time. City hopes to eventually replace the feed pump as a long term solution. | ||
