| Details: | SUMMARY: Confirmed E. coli in source water DETAILS: After receiving the todays test results confirming the presence of E. coli in the spring, I contacted Amy Chapman of Lincoln Co. She is not working today but got back to me on the current status at this small water system. Alsea Riviera already went on a boil water notice after the first EC detection several days ago, so the immediate health risks to consumers have been addressed. Meanwhile, the contract operator for this system (Joe Anthony) is inspecting the springbox, connections, etc., to identify possible problems and appropriate repairs. Amy Chapman will check with him on that next week. The boil notice will remain in effect until after any repairs are made, the components disinfected, and subsequent test results are negative. ACTION NEEDED: Boil notice remains in effect. Lincoln County will follow up with the water system operator next week on appropriate corrective actions. | ||
