| Details: | SUMMARY: December turbidity spikes DETAILS: Phil called on 12/22 to relay that given the heavy rains and the failure of the streaming current meter, the filter effluent turbidity spiked up to 1.2 NTU over the weekend. Given the failure of the SCM, the chemical, PASS-CX, was not being dosed at an appropriate level for optimum floc formation, as the feed pump settings were not adjusted appropriately. Operator is manually setting coagulant feed pump setting based on raw water turbidity. Phil indicated NTUs are down below 0.3 as of 12/22, as the manual setting of coagulant seems to work. ACTION NEEDED: Phil will work to repair and/or replace the SCM so that it functions appropriately. System may conduct jar tests to assist with coagulant dose. DWS to conduct Comprehensive Performance Evaluation of plant in January - February 2015. | ||
