Details: | SUMMARY: Potable water service to Port Westward DETAILS: On 2/17 Port Westward, a customer of PGE Beaver, had a section of new distribution system filled with raw surface water from a connected hose, then drained and filled with potable water in an attempt to begin potable water service to the area. Bob emphasized that the area was drained, and the hose was disconnected, in order to protect the potable section of Port Westward from any cross connection of non-potable water. Since PGE Beaver and Port Westward are both on the same parcel of property, DWS standards would not specifically apply, but I recommended that disinfection, flushing and sampling occur according to AWWA Standards referenced in DWS rules for public water systems. ACTION NEEDED: PGE Beaver to chlorinate, flush and collect samples from this section of Port Westward. Lab may send any special coliform bacteria results from Port Westward to DWS for entry to document the sampling associated with this work. No futher action required from DWS at this time. |
