| Details: | SUMMARY: COLI13806 12/29/14 source sample results e coli DETAILS: 12/29/14 coliform in Spring 1and e coli in 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6. ecoli was previously found in sources 1 and 3 and confirmed on 9/23/13. corrective actions have been addressed EXCEPT means to collect a valid source sample from each spring and drain for spring box Randy said he was concerned with potential of sample bottle contamination at least at spring 5 and though less likely other sample sites on 12/29. follow up sampling for each spring includes:spring 1-11 more months of coliform sampling- spring 3-12 months of MPA sampling and springs 2, 4,5 and 6 five e coli confirmation samples. Spring 5 has a new flowing stream that has broke out immediately below the spring collection area & the 3 plus deep port used for sample collection showed little flow. Operator considering turning this spring "off" after collecting next weeks samples.Sealing 2 archaic spring collection devices in vicinty of springs 4 & 5 has been done. A new relic was identified and operator not sure if this has been completely sealed, but questions if too far down slope to be an immediate threat of contamination to a source.spring 1 has a history of showing presence of total coliforms. Because it showed this time after correction of deficiencies operator questions if after sampling monthly for the next 11 months if DWS will require MPA sampling of this spring too. Discussion looking into future and what it would look like to treat all springs as surface water considering logistics of running separate water lines down the mountain. I told Randy that if I communicated with DWS staff on Monday Id try and communicate any insights that I might be helpful to the board for Bridge Water ACTION NEEDED: Spring 1. monthly total coliform sampling.Spring 3. Commence MPA sampling.Springs 2, 4, 5 and 6. Collect 5 samples from each source. | ||
