Details: | SUMMARY: Confirmation of 4 Log Viral Inactivation DETAILS: This system has been on a boil water advisory since December 2014. DWS received a memorandum from HBH Engineering on 4/15/15 confirming 4 log viral inactivation based on contact time achieved during flow through a pipeline during peak flow conditions. In the memo, HBH recommends a minimum chlorine residual of 0.8 mg/l at the entry point. On 4/16/15, DWS received a copy of a letter from Yamhill County to Hopewell Water Company informing them of the monitoring requirements and minimum chlorine residual to achieve 4 log viral inactivation for the Nelson Spring source - and encloses the necessary monthly monitoring form for their use. This will allow the system to lift the boil water advisory - although at this time they have not yet done so. The County (Gary Van Der Veen) will submit language to DWS so that a notification can be sent out to staff regarding lifting of the boil requirement. ACTION NEEDED: Wait to hear from County - then send out notification to DWS staff. |
