| Details: | SUMMARY: Regulatory Assistance DETAILS: Well water tested positive for coliform and E. coli during routine sampling. Results were reported to Drinking Water Services on 5/11/15. An alert was issued in late afternoon of 5/12/15. All attempts to reach the owner were unsuccessful. I visited the firm during the morning of 5/13/15. I met with Carla Jewell, store manager, and discussed the test results. Surinder Kaur, owner, would not be available until the afternoon. Ms. Jewell stated the owner was aware of the test results. The water lab used by the firm would be arriving sometime today to collect the four required repeat samples. Ms. Jewell has already taken action to stop serving soda and coffee. The firm has placed "out of order" signs on the post-mix soda machine. The store does not have an ice machine. All bagged ice is obtained from Hilltop Market-- a second local store under the same ownership. Hot food was prepared this morning using bottled water. The ODA issued a Cease and Desist order prohibiting serving water to the public and any food service that requires hand washing and equipment cleaning unless such activity can be accomplished with bottled water. ACTION NEEDED: Complete repeat sampling. | ||
