| Details: | SUMMARY: Alert: E. coli, source and distribution system, 3rd set of samples DETAILS: State notified us by phone of a third round of E.coli positive samples coming from this system, not yet entered into SDWIS. System had been under earlier advisement due to other confirmed positive E coli samples. At time of last contact operator stated that the facility was open but under a Boil Water notice, and supplying bottled water to the rooms. They had shocked the system once, and were advised on shocking a second time. After receiving this most recent round of positives, I contacted the hotel reception and Rod Edel requesting that they voluntarily close the facility until a corrective action plan was in place, indicating we would contact him to schedule a site visit as soon as possible. Rod asked whether installation of a UV system would meet requirements. He was advised to hold off until we could better assess the situation. They have no bookings until the 13th and agreed to close temporarily.6/12/12 Contacted Mr. Edel and arranged for a site visit on Thursday. Informed him that the posted notice had still not been received by state or by our office, gave him the email and fax numbers. Consulted with D Hough about possible courses of action for the system. State also indicates that, since the most recent round of positives shows E.Coli at the source, that five additional source samples must be taken. Informed Edel of this on the morning of 6/13. Copy of notice sent on 6/13. ACTION NEEDED: 6/11 Consult with program supervisor and state engineers. 6/12 Site visit planned for Thursday 11am. | ||
