Details: | SUMMARY: Pump motor inoperable. DETAILS: Lightning strike burned out pump motor, thus the water system is not able to produce water. Storage tank has water but is not full. The system operators is obtaining parts to make water available from the nearby Bley-Was system so users will be able to fill water jugs and bottles for domestic use. The operator had contacted the service person for the pump motor and expects the motor to be repaired Monday. The consumers have been notified of the problem and instructed:• To reduce water consumption--• They may fill approved water jugs and containers at the Bley-Was water system pump house. ACTION NEEDED: I gave the following precautions to the water operator:Prior to use, disinfect the plumbing parts and supplies that are put on the Bley-Was system to provide a water jug filing source for the Bly consumes.Make sure the water containers used by the Bly customers are suitable for potable water. Do not allow people to fill old oil jugs, gasoline cans, etc. for their drinking water. If the pump for the Bly Well needs to be removed, prior to again providing water for drinking”Flush the well after the pump has been reinstalled--Disinfect the well and pump--Again flush the well and pump. Take a coliform sample with negative results. If the pressure in the Bly Water Systems drops below 20 PSI the system will need to be flushed and disinfected prior to allowing the customers to drink the water. |
