| Details: | SUMMARY: Total Coliform Positive Routine Sample Taken 11-17-15 DETAILS: I received an alert for a total coliform positive routine sample taken on 11-17-15 at the well pump. I called and spoke to Skip Cadman (503-325-5451) and let him know that he needed to take 3 repeat samples and one triggered source sample as soon as possible. He also needs to take 5 temporary routine samples for the month of December. He said he had just received the results, left a message for Clatsop County, and were going to lock out the well (handpump), disinfect, and take the samples on Tuesday. I advised him to take the samples prior to disinfecting the well to avoid masking a potential problem with the well. I explained that if he took the samples tomorrow, he should be able to get the results back Saturday and then shock chlorinate if needed and resample sending those results with the normal lab courier next Tuesday. He said he would take that under consideration. Either way, the well will be off-line until resampling shows an absence of coliform bacteria. ACTION NEEDED: System to take pump off-line and take 3 repeat samples and 1 triggered source sample as soon as possible. 5 temporary routine samples are needed for the month of December 2015.
