| Details: | SUMMARY: System Equipment Inspection and Recommendations DETAILS: The Lost Creek Water Association is located outside of Clatskanie in Columbia County. The water system has 26 connections with an estimated population of 100. The water system pulls water from a single well. There is an additional emergency connection well which is not regularly used. The Circuit Rider was contacted to provide an inspection of the existing facilities. The primary driving issue was concerns about the potential failure of the main well pump. The well pump house is a sheet steel room welded onto the welded steel reservoir. There is significant corrosion of piping and the steel walls due to the chlorination system coupled with poor ventilation. Provided preliminary recommendations for rehabilitation of the well pump house. These recommendations included recoating and/or replacement of the well system piping, recoating of the steel walls, and adding ventilation to remove chlorine fumes from the room.
