Details: | SUMMARY: DRC level, chem distibutors, DBPs DETAILS: Steve has returned to involvement with system after several years. He questioned whether they really needed a DRC with Treatment 2 cert. (I checked, and all conventional plants do.) I referred him to the AWWA subsection for information on operator training prep and other possible chemical distributors as the shipping costs are high from their current source out of state. Discussed recent DBP exceedance and returning to a quarterly DBP sampling schedule. Steve believes the exceedance may have been related to very high rainfall in December. In a storm later that month, their raw turbidity rose and they shut down the plant as a precaution (not yet a violation in treated H20), and notified residents to boil via phone trees. (lifted 3 days later). ACTION NEEDED: Steve does not seem to be receiving phone messages from me, so I contacted their DRC, Ray Doan (541-396-4286). Through him, I sent Garden Valley the most common public notice templates for surface water plants. They did not need to post for turbidity in Dec, but just to have the proper wording and delivery requirements on hand. Review December monthly report when entered. Ray will also provide input on chemical sources. | ||
