Details: | SUMMARY: MPA Sample from SRC-AAA (East Well) DETAILS: Talked to Tony Simon. He could not find a lab to do the MPA samples and he had no specific guidance as to when to sample. Tia Skerbeck and Shawn Stevenson answered these questions. Tony now has a list of labs and the parameter of a minimum flow rate of 7,000cfs in the Alsea River. ACTION NEEDED: 5/21/2016 - Tony is working with an approved lab and has the equipment to take an MPA sample. He was going to sample this week in May-- however, Shawn Stevenson said the Alsea River was not flowing at a high enough rate which is a minimum of 7,000cfs. Consequently Tony is not sampling now-- he will send the equipment back and wait until the Alsea River is flowing at a minimum of 7,000cfs. He plans to use the USGS alert system (thank you Shawn) to let him know when the flow rate is acceptable. He anticipates a possible problem getting the sampling equipment before the flows go down. Apparently it takes time to get the equipment. Hopefully he can get the equipment when the flows are right. The good news is Tony now is connected with approved labs and knows how the sampling equipment works and can change the pipe to accommodate the inline filter. |
