| Details: | SUMMARY: Fairmount reservoir issue DETAILS: Dwayne contacted DWS Friday 5/20 to report that divers cleaning the tank found a dead and bleached-out garter snake and removed it. A vent on the tank that was identified as damaged during the 2014 water system survey (and immediately repaired when discovered) is the suspected mode of entry. The tank is offline during the cleaning and Dwayne indicated that two coliform samples will be collected on separate days and the tank would not be put back into service until results were absent. The chlorine residual in the tank is always maintained at around 1.1 ppm. DWS requested Salem do an inspection of the tank exterior including the previously repaired vent and ensure the tank is watertight. ACTION NEEDED: Coliform samples collected after the tank cleaning on 5/20 and 5/23 were both absent for coliform so the tank was put back in service. | ||
