Details: | SUMMARY: review monthly surface water forms and 2 recent EC results DETAILS: Stopped by to discuss the entries in the monthly treatment reports - pressure values and some required CT values did not look right. It turns out, the pressure really is that low (4 psi) going into the final strainrite filter. The pressure drops somewhere between exiting the sand pressure filter (where it is 37 psi) and the final strainrite bag filter. Suggested Glenna try the excel version of the monthly report, where she could put in the daily measured parameters and would not have to consult the CT tables, it would be automatically computed. Plus, she could email in that form and not have to fax it. In two recent months, the routine coliform sample has been EC present, but nothing in the repeats. I looked for openings in the storage tank (none seen). Glenna believes the material accumulating in the screen at the sample location (kitchen faucet) may be the source, and will leave that screen off. Seems doubtful as the origin of fecal bacteria. She will begine recording the chlorine level on the coliform lab forms. We reviewed the population numbers against the water system classification levels. ACTION NEEDED: Emailed Glenna with the excel reporting form and the flow chart of public water system classifications. Questioned where the 98 minutes of time on the monthly reports came from, since the last conservative estimate was 28 minutes (in 2014 DWS survey). No tracer study to determine actual contact time, including flock tanks. Assistance from DWS for a tracer study is less likely if the system classification changes from a transient to a state-reg water system. |
