Details: | SUMMARY: WELL SUPPLY ISSUES DETAILS: The Circuit Rider was contacted by Melissa Dailey with CASA. CASA is assisting the residents of Umpqua Ranch with purchasing the park from the previous owner. As part of the work, CASA is evaluating infrastructure needs for the system. The Circuit Rider was contacted to provide assistance with evaluation and recommendations for the water system. Specific to this Contact Report, CASA is seeking recommendations for the existing wells. The system has 4 active wells and 3 inactive wells. The existing wells do not provide enough water to the community at all times. When the wells do not produce enough water, the system uses the emergency intake on the North Umpqua River. CASA is seeking recommendations for where to drill an additional well on the park property. Previously researched well logs and recommended that any new well should be close to the neighboring property, which has a good producing well. Also, cautioned that a new well is most likely to be a low producing well and that other options may need to be considered. Reviewed the potential for continued use of the emergency surface water intake, including water rights. ACTION NEEDED: Provide additional assistance regarding water source and operational issues. The system will need an updated O&M Manual and Emergency Response Plan. |
