Details: | SUMMARY: Removing minimum pH requirement DETAILS: The city doesn’t use any chemicals for corrosion control or pH adjustment. The surveys in 1984 and 1988 say that they have soda ash available for occasional pH control and it hasn’t been mentioned in any survey since 1988. They had a single time that the lead was above the action level in 1994 (and after that they went on 6 month rounds) but have not been above the AL since. Chuck Michaels looked to see when the minimum pH was set, and it was set in 2002, but he couldn’t tell by who. There is no mention of water quality parameters being measured or notification to the system of setting a minimum pH in the files. No one at the water system knows anything about having a minimum pH and Scott Curry doesn’t have any recollection about this issue either. Since the minimum pH seems to have been set erroneously, it is being removed and all violations regarding this issue will be deleted. ACTION NEEDED: None |
