Details: | SUMMARY: Routine and repeat samples tested positive for coliform. DETAILS: Contacted the water system since their repeat samples collected on April 19, 2017 tested positive for coliform. The new operator, Laurel Kullerud, indicated that she has completed the Level 1 Investigation form and is confident that they know the reason for the positive samples. She indicated that the pump house ended up getting flooded which caused the Ground Fault Interrupter (GFI) to trip and shut down the UV reactor. Ms. Kullenrud was informed that the UV unit should not have been installed with a bypass that allows untreated water to enter the distribution system. Ms. Kullenrud indicated during the conversation that she was new to operating the system and was not aware that they system was setup to bypass when a power failure occurred. At the end of the phone call, the system was informed to collect repeat samples during the month of May and Ms. Kullenrud explained that they were planning on collecting their temporary routine samples next Monday, May 1st. ACTION NEEDED: Submit the Level 1 to DWS and collect three temporary routine samples during the month of May 2017. | ||
