Details: | SUMMARY: 2nd light sensor for Viqua UV unit DETAILS: Not able to connect by phone, I emailed Dave (the consultant for Belloni Boys Ranch) today the outcome of our DWS staff persons discussion with the manufacturer of their UV reactor (Viqua) on light sensor calibration. The Viqua representative verified that light sensors do not last forever, and the water system does need to make sure the sensor is operating within specifications, usually by checking it regularly against a 2nd "reference" sensor. In addition to meeting this federal reporting requirement, obtaining a 2nd sensor would have the added benefit of redundancy - potentially avoiding water and operational disruptions at the school if their one sensor did have a problem. I asked Dave to contact me with his thoughts on how to move forward with the 2nd sensor so that Belloni Boys Ranch can meet the monthly UV reporting requirements ^ start receiving disinfection credit from their new UV treatment as soon as possible. The UV disinfection credit could assist with their recurring DBP levels by allowing them to reduce chlorine use. ACTION NEEDED: Await response |
