Details: | SUMMARY: monitoring requirements DETAILS: Informed Jan that they have completed IDSE monitoring for DBPs, and will now go to routine Stage 2 monitoring - one dual sample every September at site 2 (Upper Benham location). Discussed lead and copper - we need a 2nd consecutive 6-month round before we can reduce the schedule to annual. Alerted Jan to the fact that collecting that round before the end of June will satisfy that requirement. Also discussed "Tiers" criteria for selecting lead and copper sampling locations with the highest risk. She says collecting lead and copper samples can be challenging there because of the 20 homes, many are "2nd" homes where the people may be absent for long stretches of time. Some also have their own wells and only supplement with Pelican Bay Hts water when needed. The plan is still on for Harbor PUD to absorb this water system. Pelican Bay will build two new 10,000 gal reservoirs in July 2017, which Harbor required for that merger. Harbor also said they want the new reservoirs functioning for 90 days before they take over. The consolidation could transpire late in 2017. ACTION NEEDED: Requested DBP schedule change. Sent Jan a follow up email regarding the current status of their DBP and Lead and copper monitoring requirements, as well as an EPA handout with the Tier 1-3 site selection criteria for lead and copper monitoring. Await notice from Jan when the June lead and copper results are back (and under the action levels) to enable reduction to annual lead and copper monitoring. |
