| Details: | SUMMARY: update on system break/repairs DETAILS: Page called to report a contractor had drilled a hole into a main line late on Friday 6/16/17. Repairs to the line had some delay as there was an Idaho Power line that was very close to the main line and the crew had to wait for Idaho Power to come and stabilize the pole before repairs could be completed. There was no loss of pressure therefore a boil notice was not issued. The system is taking precautions and will have the backup chlorination system online for a week or two. The City will be collecting water (bacteria) samples Wednesday morning around the area affected by the repair work. **correction 6/22/17 DWS learned that the houses affected by the break were isolated and a boil notice was not issued at the time. A notice is to be issued today 6/22/17. ACTION NEEDED: System to continue operational practices and keep DWS informed of any additional information. **6/22/17 a boil notice is to be issued to the houses that were affected/loss of pressure. Bacteria samples were collected on 6/21/17. Further action will be based on the results. In the meantime, the systems chlorination unit has been activated (system wide as a precaution). | ||
