| Details: | SUMMARY: City of Monroe exceeded the 90% value for lead DETAILS: Dave Claborn with the City of Monroe called on August 9, 2017, to notify the DWS that the water system had exceeded the 90% value for lead. During the telephone conversation, Mr. Claborn indicated that all the sample sites were valid. Mr. Claborn was informed that he would be receiving an automatically generated letter listing requirements that the water system will have to follow. Mr. Claborn indicated that the treatment system was working properly and he did not think the switch from liquid soda ash to dry (mixed on site) soda ash was the cause and the pH at the entry point was above the minimum of 7.4. Mr. Claborn was also informed that the system would have to conduct two 6 month rounds of lead and copper sampling at 20 sites.
