Details: SUMMARY: CHLORINE CONTACT RECOMMENDATIONS DETAILS: The circuit rider had completed a tracer study that indicated the water system’s contact time for disinfection was below what is required by the state. The circuit rider was tasked with engineering a remedy to extend the disinfection contact time to meet the required CT. The circuit rider proposed two alternative solutions to extend contact time. One alternative is to reconfigure the system to create additional contact volume. The other alternative is to install a “pipe type” contact chamber of several hundred feet on 12” PVC pipe. ACTION NEEDED: The circuit rider will assist in obtaining funding for the selected alternative
