Details: | SUMMARY: Problems with line breaks DETAILS: D. Vaage made a site visit on 08/31/17. It was determined that to avoid park-wide service disruptions due to breaks in the distribution system, shut-off valves should be installed on the distribution lines at each service connection. There are currently 86 connections, locating and installing a valve for each connection would be costly. D. Vaage suggests strategically placing fewer shut-off valves throughout the system, this would allow smaller portions of the system to isolated in the event of a line break and would keep the rest of the park in service. It was suggested that 8-10 shut-off valves would be adequate to isolate breaks in the system. A conservative estimate of cost to locate and install 8-10 valves is $18,000. ACTION NEEDED: None. |
