Details: | SUMMARY: Alert for DBP exceedance DETAILS: Received alert for exceedance of HAA5 in November sample. Spoke to Thujee, the new contact for this system. He has spoken to their executive director Roger Langlie. Their corrective action plan for DBPs states that they need to be compliant by March 1, 2018. At present, their next steps are probably to: add a 2nd chlorinator for post-filtration chlorination - and only do pre-chlorination when necessary (or use an absolute minimum)-- try increasing ACH to see if that helps with coagulation and Iron/Mn removal with less pre-chlorination. If those dont work, theyll try adding a 2nd float/switch so they can lower the level of the water in their storage tank (reducing the water residence time in the tank). Returning to ferric chloride as their coagulant is a more distant option. Thujee would like to set up a conference call with him and Roger and I to discuss these options. He will send me an email in the meantime with their intentions. ACTION NEEDED: Look into whether they can receive new circuit rider assistance for the DBP exceedance issues - the previous circuit rider did a consultation in late 2015/early 2016, but since then there has been a change in manager, and they have learned that some options were unsuccessful. | ||
