Details: | SUMMARY: Monitoring Reports and Sampling DETAILS: Spoke to Gary Lillie by phone regarding the following:He confirmed again he was giving up monthly source assessment sampling for the new well. Because after finding TC again in the new well it does not make sense to consider abandoning disinfection for this shallow well, making it moot to continue [source assessment] sampling. He also questioned frequency for both routine total coliforms and nitrates. I told him to expect a reduction for nitrates (from quarterly) and that I would review the sampling history and confirm this by email-- and I reiterated BY RULE it is not possible to reduce TC sampling frequency to less than quarterly. We talked about the records being kept by Ms. Sandy Morris and I agreed to talk to her about any change in documentation requirements. On 1/22/17, I spoke to Sandy and explained that it was prudent to continue to: (1) complete the Monthly Disinfection Report Form for Ground Water Systems – on a daily basis, and (2) submit it immediately at the end of each month to the DWS “compliance” address, and (3) I confirmed that 0.50 mg/l continued to be the minimum chlorine concentration to maintain and for anything less to call Gary Lillie to fix. ACTION NEEDED: None. |
