| Details: | SUMMARY: E. Coli positive routine sample taken 2-21-18 DETAILS: I received a call from Daniel Waterbury about an E. Coli positive routine sample taken from the distribution system on 2-21-18 at a sample location marked George Hill. I let Dan know that he needed to take 3 repeat samples within 24 hours, which he did on 2-22-18. If any of the repeat samples came back positive, then that would be considered an MCL violation, a boil water notice would need to be issued, and a Level 2 Coliform Investigation would be needed. I e-mailed some information on the coliform sampling requirements and the October 2015 Pipeline article on new coliform rule requirements as well as a Tier 1 boil notice template in case the repeat samples resulted in an MCL violation. I recommended to Dan that he do some preparation to issue a public notice and that we would talk on 2-23-18 after the repeat sample results are known. Dan called back on 2-23-18 to report that the repeat samples all came back absent of coliform bacteria and he faxed the repeat results to our office. ACTION NEEDED: Operator to report E. coli detection in the CY2018 Consumer Confidence Report. No further action necessary due to the repeat samples being absent of coliform bacteria. | ||
