Details: | SUMMARY: update on tracer study, change of staff DETAILS: Jim says the tracer study for the new line at Ocean Blvd has been pushed back. First, they want to do a compehensive master plan to evaluate what that potential 3-4 MGD will do hydraulically to the movement in clearwell and reservoirs. With requests for bids, etc., they probably will not have an engineering firm complete that evaluation till the first half of 2017. The new Ocean Blvd line has not been used and will remain that way in the interim. Its purpose was primarily for resilience in case something were to happen that would put their 9 MG reservoir offline. Staff turnovers: Jim Kaylor (interim PW operations mgr) will leave in early October, replaced by new hire Bill Hagan, who starts in early Sept. There will also be a new treatment plant supervisor at Pony Creek, Jerre Cober, promoted from plant operator there. ACTION NEEDED: Jim suggests waiting till mid October to conduct the water system survey, to give the new operations manager a chance to get up to speed. That also will allow us to establish relations with the continuing staff rather than outgoing staff. |
