Details: | SUMMARY: Follow-up to the Sanitary Survey. DETAILS: John McKevitt sent a letter dated 04/09/2007 addressing the significant deficiencies identified during the Sanitary Survey completed 01/22/2007. John stated in his letter that the CFE turbidity reading used for compliance purposes is now collected through the drain lines on the IFE turbidimeters and sent to a separate turbidimeter. I told John that this practice could not be used because it does not account for the varying flow rates through each filter and does not adequately represent the combined filter effluent turbidity. Instead, John plans to comply with the CFE turbidity reading requirement by reporting the highest IFE reading for the 4 hour period as allowed by DHS rule interpretation dated 12/6/2004. We discussed Johns concerns over the population used for Lincoln City. He will review the population records and propose a change if he finds new data other than the census results that were used during the survey. I informed John that the tracer study attached to his survey response letter was approved by Tom Charbonneau on 5/1/2007. As a result of the above information and the rest of the information submitted by John in his survey response letter, the treatment plant inspection frequency has been reduced from annual to every 3 years. ACTION NEEDED: None. |
