Details: | SUMMARY: Four repeat samples collected on 8/3/07 tested positive for Total Coliform. DETAILS: Aug 6, 07, Richard Kirby noted that the Phase Three storage tank is definitely positive and maybe even farther up the line. He plans to test all Phase Three wells individually. Any wells that come up positive will be manually activated and the water will be sampled immediately post-UV to determine if the UV disinfection system is working. Aug. 10, 07, All Phase Three source samples tested negative for Total Coliform. Aug. 15, 07, All three storage tanks are currently being chlorinated at approximately 1 ppm and will be tested next week when the chlorine residual has been at 0 for a minimum of three days. Aug. 23, 07, Four special samples collected. Aug. 27, 07, All special samples passed except the transfer line failed. Richard will bring the chlorinated residual from the Phase Three storage tank down up to 2.0 ppm. The transferred line was not filled all of the way during the first round of chlorination. This is likely the reason for the remaining bacteria. Sept 17, 07, Four special samples were collected all were absent with the exception of the transfer line. Richard said, that the transfer line will be kept out of service until they figure out what the problem is. He is going to run a low-level residual in Phase 1-2 for the next several days and then flush it out prior to collecting the routine sample for September (just in case the Coliform in the transfer line as re-infected Phase 1-2. Sept. 22, 07 Four out of five routine samples collected from Phase Three tested positive for Total Coliform. Sept. 24, 07 Three out of five repeat samples collected from Phase Three tested positive for Total Coliform. See the next alert for more details.
